Daily Announcements - February 13, 2018
Black History Month: The Black History Month show is tomorrow 2/14 at 7:00pm. Admission is free for north students, and $3 for non-students. Learn about African-American inventors like Lewis Latimer, who invented the carbon filament (light bulb component)!
Candy Grams: Today 2/13 is the last day to buy a $1 Candy-Gram at lunch to be delivered tomorrow 2/14 to advisories. Proceeds benefit the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.
Sci-Fi Club: There is a Sci-Fi Club meeting on 2/15 at 2:15pm in room 240. We will be talking more about the 5/4 celebration and the Solo movie!
Chem Gems: Chem Gems are being sold during lunch, and can be delivered to that special someone during their advisory on Valentine's Day. The perfect gift!
Mary Poppins: All Mary Poppins cast and crew members that want the Valentine name list are to see Mrs. M in the Athletic Office today 2/13!
Young Feminists: There is a Young Feminists meeting on 2/21 and a Gay-Straight Alliance meeting on 2/28.
CSCC: Columbus State Community College is offering a 3-day Summer Camp focused on Logistics Engineering Technology. Visit their Website for more information.
Financial Aid: Financial Aid & Scholarships are available on the FAFSA website. Also check the bottom of the college tab page in your Naviance account for a scholarship list. Be sure to check deadlines!
College Fairs: The HBCU College Fair is on 2/22 from 3:00-6:00pm at WSHS. RSVP at email@example.com. There is also a Learning Differences College Fair on 2/22 from 6:00-8:00pm at Marburn Academy. See this Flyer for more info.
AP Test: Register online for your AP Test using the button above, or bring your form to the main office.
CCP: Any student interested in or enrolled in CCP is encouraged to watch this Video highlighting the benefits and risks of CCP. Visit the website listed at the end to print and sign the confirmation form due to your counselor.
Summer School: Students seeking to recover credit or earn new credit in a given course can access registration materials Here.
Graduation: Make sure to turn in your Presenter Forms by 2/28 so that you're able to choose your own diploma presenter. If a presenter form is not received by 2/28, a presenter will be selected on your behalf.
ACT Workshop: The deadline to register for the CollegeSmiths' ACT Workshop is 2/23. View their Flyer for more information.
Softball: Students interested in playing softball should pick up a try-out packet in Coach Call's room (155). Packets are due back on 2/16. Tryouts will be held on 2/19 at 3:00pm.
Baseball: Students interested in playing baseball can attend an informational meeting tomorrow 2/14 at 2:05pm in Coach Ring's room (130).
