Student Clubs 

Be the Change: There is a Be the Change meeting today 1/31 in Mrs. Kirk's room (127). Come help us plan next year's Challenge Day and have some fun!

BPA: There is a BPA meeting today 1/31 after school in room 153. Please plan to attend. 

Battle of the Books: There is a Battle of the Books meeting on 2/7 after school in the WLC. It's not too late to join the team, there are some spots open for students who like to read!

Art & Writing Group: There is an Art & Writing Group meeting every Thursday in February. 

NHS: All NHS members need to bring in a bag of candy and pay dues this week. 

Drama Club: There is a Drama Club meeting on 2/6 at 2:30pm in the auditorium. The meeting theme is Theatrical Lighting. All are welcome!

Young Feminists: There is a Young Feminists meeting today 1/31 at 2:10pm in Ms. Swensen's room (125). All are welcome!

International Club: There is an International Club meeting tomorrow 2/1 in room 306. Everyone must attend to plan for the celebration!

Sci-Fi Club: There is a Sci-Fi Club meeting tomorrow 2/1 at 2:15pm in room 240 to discuss our upcoming events!

Pupil Services 

GEM: If you would like to nominate a WCS staff member or volunteer for a Great Educator Mentor (GEM) Award, nomination forms are in the office and are due back by 2/9.

Financial Aid: Scholarships are available on these websites: Delaware County Foundation ScholarshipsOSU Newark ScholarshipsCOTC Scholarships. Student Loans and need-based scholarships are available on the FAFSA website

DACC: The priority deadline for sophomores to apply for the Delaware Area Career Center is 2/2. If you're interested in attending the career center next year, make sure you apply. 

Junior Mentors: There is a Junior Mentor training meeting on 2/5 at 2:15 in the WLC. School visits are: Walnut Springs 2/6 9:30am, Heritage 2/7 8:00am, Genoa 2/7 12:30pm, Blendon 2/8 1:30pm. 

Conferences: Parent-Teacher Conferences are on 2/7 & 2/8. Sign-ups will close on 2/5 so teachers can prepare for these appointments. There will be no school on 2/9. 

Academic Info Night: The Academic Info Night & Activities Fair is tomorrow 2/1 at 6:30pm in the auditorium. Students and families in grades 8-11 are invited to learn more about freshman scheduling, career pathways, advanced classes, parent communication, and activities.  

College Fair: The HBCU & Multicultural College Fair is on 2/22 from 3:00-6:00pm in South's commons. RSVP at info@dvseducation.org. 

Scheduling: Counselors will be in the commons during lunches on 2/1 to answer scheduling questions. Scheduling sheets went out today, and are due back on 2/2. Grades 9-11 will schedule online on 2/5. 

Yearbooks: 2016-2017 Yearbooks will be available for pick-up on 2/1 & 2/2 during lunch in the commons for those who purchased them last year. 

ACT Workshop: The deadline to register for the CollegeSmiths' ACT Workshop is 2/23. View their Flyer for more information. 

Drivers Ed: Prestige Driving Academy classes begin on 2/5. See their Flyer for more information.
