Scheduling with the Academic Planning Guide
Students were given course registration sheets on Tuesday, Jan. 30th. During an extended Advisory, teachers guided students with information from our School Counselors about how to complete the course requests. Students had the remainder of the week to discuss their options with their teachers, talk with School Counselors during lunch periods in the commons and also share their plan with their family. Students were to complete the form (including parent signature) and an additional form if they plan to sign up for honors, CCP or AP courses and return them to their Advisory teacher on Friday, Feb. 2. On Monday, Feb. 5, students were called to the Commons by Graduation class for 1 period during the day to complete the requests electronically in Power School. The Pupil Services team will help navigate that process. Counselors will be traveling to WCS Middle Schools during the rest of the week to support the scheduling process for the class of 2022. In the following weeks, Counselors will review their student's selections and meet with students who need some extra support or those who have errors or adjustments which need to be made. Students will receive a confirmation list in the Spring to double check their selections and confirm the accuracy of Power School's records. That will complete the process and we will be using the information gathered to determine courses needed for the upcoming school year.
