Welcome back from what I hope was a restful Spring Break. The week before we left for break was a very exciting week with many wonderful recognitions and these accolades are ones we need to celebrate as we look forward to a positive close to this school year. I have included these recognitions as well some important information about college readiness.
Westerville North Mock Trial Team
The Westerville North Mock Trial Team participated in the annual Ohio Center for Law Related Education’s State High School Mock Trial competition held March 7-9. The team advanced to the state semi-finals for the third straight year, one of only three teams in the state to do so. The students placed first in both the district and the regional competition, earning the right to advance to the state tournament.
It is hard to believe but we are getting ready to enter the 4th quarter of our school year. We have just completed OGT week and are only one week away from Spring Break (March 25-29). As you know, we have enjoyed an incredible winter activities season together over the last few months. Both of our basketball programs earned OCC Championships, had Player of the Year (Simmons, Gibbs) honors, and Coach of the Year (Kloepfer, Thuman) honors. We had a State Champion Swimmer (Miller) and four wrestlers (Disabato, Struttman, Hinz, Durieux) qualify for State with one placing seventh (Disabato). Our Bowling team won the OCC Championship as well and Mock Trial finished in the top eight. Peter Sandvik was awarded the Godfrey Award for being the top scholar athlete in the OCC Cardinal Division and Peter Pan, directed by Kim Mollohan, was a huge hit and is easily the best high school production I have ever seen.
