Student Clubs & Athletics
Theatre: Applications for directing Senior One Act-plays are available on the Theatre Bulletin Board and are due on 1/22.
International Club: There is an International Club meeting tomorrow 1/17 at 2:15pm in room 306. This is a mandatory meeting if you are a part of the Cultural Celebration.
Basketball: There is a basketball doubleheader on 1/18 against Central starting at 6:00pm. Watch the game live or on demand on the Westerville North Sports Network, with a pregame show at 5:35pm. Go Warriors!
Astronomy Club: There is an Astronomy Club meeting today 1/16 after school in room 238. Bring a treat to share for our rescheduled "winter" party as we discuss the upcoming lunar eclipse and the InSight Mars rover.
Sci-Fi Club: There is a Sci-Fi Club tomorrow 1/17 at 2:15pm in room 240.
Construction Scholarship: Applicants must be enrolled in or entering a two-year or four-year college program and be in a construction-related field of study. Click here for more info!
DACC Closed: The DACC is closed today 1/16.
PM Assembly: We will be on a PM Assembly Schedule on 1/18 for the Winter Pep Assembly.
No School: There is no school on 1/21 in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Extended Advisory: We will be on an Extended Advisory Schedule on 1/23.
Options: There is an informational meeting on options after high school on 2/6 at 6:30pm in the WPAC for 10th and 11th grade parents to hear from colleges, trade reps and military reps. Feel free to come early to speak with the reps!
Academic Info Night: The Academic Info & Activities Fair is on 1/30 from 8:00-11:00pm.
WFSI Summer Class: There is a meeting to discuss the Worthington Field Studies Inc. Summer Class today 1/16 at 7:00pm at Thomas Worthington room 176 that presents information on the 6/12-7/15 trip and material needed.
GEM: To nominate an adult in our school community who goes above and beyond in the lives of WNHS students, pick up Great Educator Mentor (GEM) Award nomination form from Mrs. DeSalle in the front office (due back 2/8).
AP Award of Distinction: Seniors who have successfully completed 4 AP courses can apply for the AP Award of Distinction. See your AP teacher for an application (due back 1/25).
Republican Scholarship: To apply for the Delaware County Republican Women's Club $1,000 Scholarship, email the Application by 3/15.
Warrior Way: To recognize student excellence at Westerville North, we are starting the Warrior Way Warriors of the month. Each month students will be recognized who show excellence in Academic Performance, Character, Attitude and Citizenship. Over the next few days we will be highlighting the January winners. Tiwonge Thewu is nominated by Mrs. Mosely who writes: Tiwonge is a freshman who has excelled in Personal Money Management, which is a Junior/Senior class. She has done an excellent job with the content. She should be fully prepared when it comes to her money. Andrew Dellasanta is nominated by Mr. Campbell who explained: Andrew goes above and beyond in caring for the zoology animals and educating other students and teachers on the specifics of animal maintenance. Cyrus Neville, nominated by Mrs. Walpole, has triumphed through adversity, including working through a concussion this year while staying on top of his grades, playing football, wrestling and trying out for the spring play. Hannah Gorsuch is nominated by Ms. Swensen, who writes: Hannah is an active and engaged learner. She asks questions, revises her work, helps her classmates, and radiates kindness every day. She regularly elevates the mood and rigor of our conversations and is a joy to learn with. More winners will be announced tomorrow 1/17!
