Congratulations: Congratulations to the Westerville North Mock Trial team for their performance at the district competition last Friday. All three teams won in each of their rounds and will be moving on to regional competition on February 21st. Luke Hall, Trent Morr, Brooke, Mayberry, Tiffany McCutcheon, Jacquline Kloos, and Leah Finley won best attorney awards. Camilla Garcia, Hawa Tarawally, Diana Asta, Julia Baumann, Sarah Bright, and Jennifer Finkelstein won best witness awards. Congratulate team members when you see them today!
ACT Information: This is an important announcement for any student who is scheduled to take the ACT test this Saturday, February 8th. Be sure you have a VALID ID CARD AND YOUR ADMISSION TICKET with you when you arrive at your test site. YOU CANNOT BE ADMITTED WITHOUT BOTH YOUR ID CARD AND TICKET. Please arrive before 8:00 a.m. If you have questions or need to change your registration regarding taking or not taking the writing section of the test, please see Mrs. Manzo in room 237 ASAP.
Attention AP Students: Applications for the AP Award of Distinction are due today. Please see your AP teachers or Mrs. Baumann for an application form. To qualify, you must have successfully completed four AP courses while in high school.
Attention World Travelers: Our next Italy trip meeting will be Monday, February 10th in Mr. Ring's room (141) at 6:30.
International Festival: The International Club would like to invite all students and staff to the International Festival on Tuesday, March 18th during all lunch periods. Come and enjoy the food and fun from a variety of different cultures. If students would like to learn more about the International CLub, they can contact Mrs. Cameron (room 306) or come to the meetings on Thursdays after school in room 306.
PSEO/Dual Enrollment Meeting: On Tuesday, February 25th there will be an informational meeting to discuss the Post Secondary Options Enrollment (PSEO)/Dual Enrollment (DE) programs. The PSEO/DE program allows eligible Ohio high school students to earn college credit and/or high school graduation credit through the successful completion of college courses. This meeting will be held in the Westerville South Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. and interested students and their parents are invited to attend.
Spread the Word to End the Word: Spread the Word to End the Word t-shirts are being sold through 2/14/2014. Order forms are available in room 121 or the front office. Please return form and payment to Mrs. Rausch (room 121) by Friday, February 14th. Thank you for supporting this cause!
Willy Wonka Tickets: The Westerville North Theatre and Music Departments will be presenting Willy Wonka beginning on February 27th and running through March 2nd. Click here to get your tickets.
Baseball: Reminder to all baseball players, you must have a physical completed and on file in order to try-out on February 24th. If you do not have one completed, you will not try-out.
Westerville Warcats Hockey: The Westerville Warcats Club Hockey teams would like to thank you for your support of their student players from all three Westerville high schools. There is a special SENIOR NIGHT game scheduled with a pre-game ceremony to acknowledge the contributions of twelve SENIOR players graduating in June. Come out and support all the Warcats players on Sunday February 9th at 5:00 p.m. at Chiller North.
Book Group: Please join the Westerville North Book Group in reading Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. Set in 1986, Eleanor and Park is a stopry of an unlikely first love between two outsiders. We will meet to discuss the book after school on Monday, February 24th in the Media Center. All are welcome.
Ski Club: We will go to Mad River Monday and Wednesday next week. Your once a week pass is good both nights. We will leave at 3:00 and be home at 10:00.
