General

ACT Information: This is an important announcement for any student scheduled to take the ACT test this Saturday, October 26th.  Be sure you have a VALID ID CARD AND YOUR ADMISSION TICKET with you when you arrive to your test site.  YOU CANNOT BE ADMITTED WITHOUT YOUR ID CARD AND TICKET! Please arrive before 8:00 a.m. If you have questions or need to change your registration regarding taking or not taking the writing section of the test, please see Mrs. Manzo in room 237 ASAP.

Celebrate My Drive: Be sure to go to celebratemydrive.com (or click here) and make your commitment to drive safely to keep Westerville North in the running for the grand prize of $100,000 and a concert by Kelly Clarkson!  Vote once a day, EVERY day through this Saturday!

Chris Spielman High School Team Challenge: We are currently in third place of our division in the Chris Spielman High School Challenge. We need everyone to vote every day here (www.highschoolteamchallenge.com).  WNHS could win $10,000 to go toward pay to play fees or related expenses. VOTE TODAY!!!

ESL Canned Food Drive: We are having a canned food drive for homeless teens.  Bring any canned food to school so that homeless teams can have a good life.  Drop off during the weeks of November 11-15 and November 18-22 during 5th period lunch or Mrs. Cameron's room (306) anytime. We will have a competition between Advisories and the winner will receive a donut party. This food drive is for the OSU Star House (www.osustarhouse.com). 

Halloween Candy Sale: Bring a bag of candy to room 304 to help with the Halloween Candy Sale. The candy we need most are: M&Ms, Kit Kat, Hershey's, Twix, Skittles, Snickers, Milky Way, and Three Musketeers.  You can also donate your time.  All proceeds of the Halloween Candy Sale will go to a local charity.

Juniors and Seniors: The following colleges are coming to see you this week. Sign up in the Guidance Office to see what they have to offer you.

  • Today - University of Dayton

OGT Information: Next week will be the Fall OGT test administration for all junior and seniors who still need to take it.  On Wednesday, juniors and seniors will receive a letter with his/her assigned room number and the days he/she will need to test. If you do not receive a letter or are unsure if you need to test, please see Mrs. Simashkevich in the Guidance Office. Students will be testing beginning at 7:30 a.m. Monday. The following tests will be given each day:

  • Monday, October 28 - Reading
  • Tuesday, October 29 - Math
  • Wednesday , October 30 - Writing
  • Thursday, October 31 - Science
  • Friday, November 1 - Social Studies

Seniors: ALL football players, cheerleaders, and cross country runners need to turn in their senior profiles to Mrs. Polito for Senior Night TODAY.Senior Night is on Friday, November 1st.

THINK PINK! Think Pink is next week!  Show your spirit and support the fight to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research.  We will have THINK PINK spirit week and collect money each day during Advisory! Pink ribbons will be sold during lunches all week for $1.  Participate all week:

  • Monday - Pink Hat Day
  • Tuesday - Pink Socks/Accessories day
  • Wednesday - Pink Shirt Day
  • Thursday - Costume Day and wear the pink ribbon
  • Friday - Gold Rush for the South game and wear the pink ribbon

Sports

Girls Basketball: Girls basketball tryouts will begin tomorrow at 3:00 in the main gym. You must have a physical on file in order to tryout.  Please see Coach Kloepfer in the Guidance Office with any questions.

Sweet Frog Football Challenge: Don't forget to head out to Sweet Frog (by Rave Theatres at Polaris), WNHS will receive 10% of any sale at Sweet Frog where the customer mentions the name Westerville North.  There are four schools in this challenge and the school with the most payout will receive an additional $250.00. 

Clubs

Robotics Club: Robotics Club will meet tonight from 6-8 p.m. in the Robotics Room next to the library at Central.  We will discuss the different roles and responsibilities for team members.  All are welcome! Any questions? See Mrs. Baumann in room 123.

Science Olympiad: If you enjoy science, come join us after school on Thursdays in room 161.

Theatre - Legend of Sleepy Hollow: The WNHS Theatre Department's Fall Play production of LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW opens tonight (10/24) with additional performances on Friday (10/25) and Saturday (10/26).  The show begins nightly at 7:00 in the auditorium.  Tickets are $6 and will be sold at the door and during lunch periods beginning today through Friday.  This play is recommended for all ages as long as patrons aren't frightened by graveyard ghosts!

Theatre - Willy Wonka: THINK CHOCOLATE! WILLY WONKA auditions are Sunday, November 3rd from 2-5 p.m. and Monday, November 4th from 3:30-6:30 in the auditorium.  Audition on the day that's best for you! Additional audition information is available outside the Athletic Office.  See Mrs. M to take home a script to read overnight.  Show dates are February 27th and 28th and March 1st and 2nd.  Cast will meet in December and rehearsals begin in January!
